POST RELEASE: Families Celebrate Adoption Day 2025

Hollister, CA: On Thursday, November 20, 2025, the Superior Court of San Benito County hosted special adoption proceedings where families officially welcomed children into their forever homes. Following the hearings, the court held its first Adoption Day celebration, bringing together families, judges, court staff, and community organizations to recognize the significance of each adoption.

Adoption Day is widely recognized as one of the most joyful events in courtrooms nationwide, filling the day with hope and excitement. Throughout November, Adoption Month brings awareness to the ongoing need for adoptive families and helps the community learn about the adoption process.

Presiding Judge Omar Rodriguez spoke about the impact of adoptions and thanked families for allowing him to be a small part of this special moment. Margaret Jones-Ryan, Chief Resource Officer, introduced the court’s new adoption tree and welcomed families who finalized adoptions at the Superior Court of San Benito County to write their first names and adoption year on leaf-shaped stickers and place them on the wall, building a tree that serves as a reminder of every adoption journey.

The Court thanks CASA, Rebekah’s Children’s Services, the San Benito County Free Library, our local justice partners, and the families who made this year’s celebration possible.
