Court Interpreter Workforce Pilot Program
We’re excited to share an important opportunity with our community; applications are now open for Cohort 3 of the California Court Interpreter Workforce Pilot Program. This statewide initiative was created to address the shortage of qualified court interpreters and expand access to justice for multilingual communities. Through the program, selected participants receive financial support for interpreter training and reimbursement for exam fees (up to three exams), along with guidance on preparing for certification.
Participants who successfully complete the program and pass required exams may become eligible for employment with the courts. In exchange, participants commit to working in the California courts for at least three years after certification.
The program is open to bilingual individuals (including American Sign Language interpreters) who are interested in pursuing a career in court interpreting and meeting eligibility requirements such as being 18+, a California resident, and able to pass a background check.
If you or someone you know is interested, don’t miss this opportunity to gain support, training resources, and a pathway into a meaningful public service career.
- Deadline to submit your application is April 21, 2026
